The Christmas Collaboration
Talk about a collaboration of epic proportions! From God to the Three Wise Men, from the angel Gabriel to the shepherds and everyone in between—without any one of them, the Christmas story would not be what we all know and love. Yes, Jesus would still come to earth to save us, but the people chosen would be different. Instead of Mary and Joseph, perhaps it would have been Kathy and Mark, or Dave and Valerie!
Society was very different then. People were never alone. They shared their joys and burdens, their homes and work, and everything in between. Collaboration wasn't a buzzword—it was a lifestyle. It was relationship.
Today, collaboration has become a trending topic, an action people engage in to achieve their goals. Yet there's a both/and here: collaboration can be both a strategic tool and a sacred calling. God didn't just collaborate with humanity at Christmas—He invited us into His grand story. He wants us to collaborate with each other, engaging in the joint effort of diverse individuals working together to achieve shared outcomes that couldn't be completed alone.
Sounds like life, doesn't it? And what better embodies the meaning of life than the miraculous birth of a child?
